Today was a really crazy Labor Day. While most people were at the beach or cooking on the grill, we were in the kitchen trying to figure out the best way to get all of these BurgaBoxes ready to go. We had all hands on deck, all day long. The day started at 7 am. Sebby and I met Berto and Norma (they are both ninjas in the kitchen) at the commissary kitchen in Woburn. We figured out what we had for boxes going out this week and started prepping. Finally. The first batch of Burgaboxes is going to be shipped. Look out Blue Apron! Burgabox is about to blow people’s minds in the meal delivery kit world!
The morning was all about slicing bacon, cheese and salami. We tried a few different ways to package this stuff up for shipping and I think we finally nailed it. All the ingredients going into the boxes are going to have nice, neat containers. The boxes actually look like we know what we’re doing.
At about noon, Paul finally showed up. I guess he was staying at his in-laws' house at Lake Winnipesaukee this weekend. Have you ever seen the tan line Paul gets on his bald head when he wears his Boston Burger Company baseball hat? It’s pretty awesome. Anyway, when he showed up we started cooking.
The afternoon was a lot of work, but a lot of fun at the same time. We made a ton of mac & cheese. The Steak Bomb mac & cheese came out awesome. I’m telling you. It’s probably one of the best combinations you could imagine. Steak, cheese, peppers, onions, mushrooms and salami...what’s better than that? I’ll tell you what. Those ingredients in our awesome mac & cheese. We cooked a lot and ate a lot. We also busted each other’s balls all afternoon, which is always fun. The good news is, we kicked ass once again. Everything came out awesome.
Tomorrow will be nuts too. We have to pack all of the boxes and get them over to FedEx. This is a first for us. We’ve never shipped this many of anything before. Why would we? It’s crazy.
Wait until you see what's going in the October Burgabox.
Stay tuned for what happens next!
